Jonathan Cunningham currently serves as board president of The Residency which he co-founded in 2015.

Jonathan has a wealth of professional experience in developing, implementing and managing community initiatives for the last 15 years. He is a former Seattle Arts Commissioner with deep knowledge of navigating public, private and municipal partnerships. He was previously the Manager of Youth Programs and Community Outreach at Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) and served as Senior Program Officer at Seattle Foundation.
Jonathan is also an award-winning music journalist and editor with content published in outlets such as FADER, VIBE, Spin, Rollinstone.com, Village Voice Media, and City Arts Magazine. 

Board of Directors

Jazmyn Scott currently serves as Vice President of The Residency. She is also the Executive Director of ARTE NOIR, formerly the Director of Programs & Partnerships for LANGSTON, co-founder of 50 Next: Seattle Hip-Hop Worldwide, a digital “time capsule” highlighting Seattle and Northwest Hip-Hop, and co-curator of The Legacy of Seattle Hip-Hop exhibit at the Museum of History & Industry; which won the 2016 American Association for State & Local History (AASLH) Leadership in History award. Additionally, she also serves as board vice president for Earshot Jazz and several community arts advisory boards.

Meli Darby, Seattle born and raised, serves on the Residency board as Treasurer. She has been producing concerts and events in the Northwest for over two decades as ReignCity Presents, former talent buyer for The Crocodile and Nectar Lounge, and as the lead programming curator for Paul Allen's Upstream Music Festival & Summit. Meli proudly served two years as a Seattle Music Commissioner and continues to advocate on behalf of the Northwest's beloved music and events community as an industry leader and mentor.

Ben Secord is a co-founder of The Residency and has supported the growth of the program since 2015. He manages GRAMMY award-winning artist Macklemore, overseeing his music career and business endeavors. Secord served on the Seattle Music Commission and is also a board member of the Underground Museum in LA.

Ben Haggerty aka Macklemore is a co-founder of The Residency. He is a multi-platinum and GRAMMY award-winning rapper and has made history as an independent artist with a combination of commercial success, critical acclaim, and international appeal. A lifelong Seattle resident, he has always believed in using his platform, resources, and creative pursuits to have an impact on racial and social justice issues. He currently serves on the board of directors for MusiCares, The Residency, and The Underground Museum in LA.
