In 2019, The Residency celebrated 5 years of commitment to youth empowerment through music. For a month in the summer, 42 youth participated in daily workshops at MoPOP with six teaching artists and many featured guest speakers. In September, many of the 2019 class were invited to perform at The Residency’s five-year celebration and appeared onstage at a sold-out Paramount Theatre, alongside Seattle artists like Macklemore, Sir-Mix-A-Lot, Paris Alexa, Travis Thompson and Sol.
