THE Residency 2024 Summer Intensive

Applications due: May 27, 2024

The Residency 2024 Summer Intensive Program is open to artists ages 16-24 with an established desire to pursue hip-hop and music as a career. The Intensive is a 3-week program where 30 students select a vocal or production track, produce original songs, record in a professional studio, and learn about a career in music. All participants will receive a paid stipend for their full attendance. Bus passes, snacks, and lunch are included.

This year we are excited about a new partnership with Seattle University and their Performing Arts and Arts Leadership departments. Participants will learn business acumen from our Teaching Artists and gain a social justice lens from community activist leaders on the SeattleU campus, in the heart of our emerald city. Students will have an opportunity to showcase their music in front of hundreds at the final showcase! Each participant also has access to year-round opportunities as a Residency Alumni.

The Residency exists to break down barriers to equitable arts learning.  We continue to center on Black, Indigenous, & P.O.C identifying young artists from low-income families to help acquire tangible artistic and professional skills while gaining confidence, teamwork, and a deepened understanding of their identity and power.
